I am such a fan of luxury makeup, but I’m not always a fan of paying an arm and a leg to get it. When I splurge on an item I want to be sure that it works flawlessly, looks beautiful and outlasts the drugstore stuff by a long shot. So today I’m putting three very high end lip products to the test to see if they’re worth the investment. And since it’s nearly time to go back to school I thought I’d share an easy makeup look to pair with each lippie so that you look fresh and confident on your first day back.
The first one is from Giorgio Armani, which has really been killing it with their beauty division lately. This is the Rouge Ecstasy Color & Care Lipstick in Dragee #303, a nude orange coral with a satin finish. The claim to fame with this guy is that it leaves lips not only beautifully colored but also hydrated and conditioned, like an amped up tinted balm. The red lacquer packaging is uber lux, complete with a sturdy magnetic closure and light fragrance. You can find it on FragranceNet.com for just $30.79*, and you might want to step on it because they sell out so fast! Next to the stage, please welcome BY TERRY Rouge Terrybly Age Defense Lipstick in Terrific Rouge #201. Featuring botanical formulas, hyaluronic acid and peptides, this lipstick does double duty as it reduces visible signs of aging AND coats lips in an opaque satin-finish vampy red. How classic! It’s on sale at FragranceNet.com right now for $40.59*. The lipstick has a light vanilla fragrance and the silver bullet with quilted design looks super chic and timeless.
Finally, you can’t have a lipstick without a good lip gloss to seal the deal. This is from Givenchy and it is their Gelée D’Interdit Smoothing Gloss Balm Crystal Shine in Explosive Raspberry #5. This is a sheer pink gloss with pink sparkles, and provides a long-term smoothing and plumping effect. It contains dehydrated hyaluronic microspheres, which soak up moisture to instantly create a smoothing effect on your lips. The pointed brush applicator allows for a very precise application, and you’ll love the sweet perfume aroma. On FragranceNet.com right now for only $24.39*. I paired it with Avon’s Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Ideal Lilac to create a rich, juicy cool pink pout.
Which of these lippies would you be most likely to wear? Are you preppy, edgy, or innocent? Let me know which high end lipstick is your favorite! You know I’m always on the hunt for more.
*Prices true at time of writing.
