Take a Bite: Nina Ricci La Tentation De Nina flash review

My name is Gil, and this is my flash review for Italian-French fashion designer Nina Ricci’s La Tentation de Nina, part 4 of my new series, “Flankers That Went Too Soon.” La Tentation de Nina was launched in 2014, and was a limited-edition flanker to the original Nina from 2006. The perfume was born from a collaboration between perfumer Olivier Cresp, creator of hits like YSL Black Opium and D&G Light Blue, and Vincent Lemain, the master chef of Ladurée in Paris. The concept was to create a fragrance inspired by macaroons that makes the wearer smell nearly edible, but in a fresher, less childish way than something like Aquolina’s Pink Sugar or Britney Spears’ Fantasy.

The bottle for La Tentation de Nina is a combination of Nina’s apple-shaped flacon and the colour story of Deci Dela, a 1994 pillar from the same brand from Jean Guichard, creator of Calvin Klein’s Obsession. Virtually none of the original notes made their way to La Tentation de Nina, which opens with a very tart lime note and develops a wonderful raspberry and biscuit aroma. The base notes are composed of vanilla, musk, and sandalwood, making for a very warm fruity-gourmand fragrance. What many have said about La Tentation de Nina already is true: this eau de toilette simply does not last. Within a couple of hours it is virtually gone from the skin, which is a tad disappointing. I don’t know that the concept was as perfectly executed as it could have been, but it makes for a great sweet feminine perfume on its own anyways. I would recommend it to fans of DKNY’s Be Delicious and Viktor & Rolf’s Bonbon.

My bottle of Nina Ricci’s La Tentation de Nina came from FragranceNet.com, where you can get genuine beauty products for up to 70% off retail. With over 17,000 items to choose from, you’re sure to locate something exciting like this hard-to-find flanker. Original retail price is $60, FragranceNet.com price only $41.99.
