In Full Bloom: Spring 2016 Looks from Caryl Baker Visage

When people ask me what brand of eye shadows is my favourite and which one I would recommend, Caryl Baker Visage inevitably comes up. Their shadows are highly pigmented yet can be sheered down with a light hand, last all day without any creasing or fallout, and come in many finishes to compliment any look. They are magnetic and easily pop out so you can insert them in your handy Z Palette, and cost less per gram than similar brands. My ultimate dream is to own each shade, but until then I’ll faithfully pick up just a few when I’m in store and settle for whimpering wistfully. Did I mention that they are paraben-free and infused with vitamin E and orchid flower extract to hydrate and protect? Swoon!

This trio is from the new Bloom collection for spring 2016, pictured left to right in Hydrangea (golden blue), Buttercup (matte beige), and Sweet Pea (metallic pink, $18 each*). I challenged myself to create an eye look that features each of them to give you an idea of what you can create using only CBV shadows. I used the Eye Prime Perfection primer to keep everything locked in place and Xtreme Lashes Length & Volume Mascara for my lashes, with Hydrangea on the lid, Sweet Pea blended in the crease, and Buttercup in the inner corner and under the brow. My blush is Pink Flamingo from last year’s spring collection. You can find pictures of the other five shades in the collection below.

How easy is that? And of course, no makeup is complete without a kissable pout. I paired the new shea- and avocado-infused Morning Dew lipstick with the vegan lip gloss in Romance ($18 each*). See that gold shimmer? Absolutely stunning. They smell like the most delicious vanilla frosting and are long wearing and smooth.

You’ll also find 2 blushes and more shades of the lip products in this collection, which is available in stores beginning this week. While you’re there make sure to check out the re-launched Papaya Perfection skincare collection, including the Renewing Moisturizer and Eye Awakening Treatment ($49 and $38 each*, pictured below). Thank you to Judi and Justin from Caryl Baker for organizing this feature!

    • You’ll love it, Jess! Such a unique shade of blue. They’re so well made that I’m in fact having trouble de-potting them! Will pop into the nearest store soon for some help. 😉
