If you didn’t already know, last year I became an official FragranceNet.com Brand Ambassador. What does that mean? Well, besides highlighting various beauty products available on the website for up to 70% off each week, I also have the absolute pleasure of interacting with their Social Media Coordinator and my friend Cynira Clay. Since this is a relatively new job title for most people, I wanted to ask Cynira what exactly it means and what she gets to do on a daily basis (hint: lots of fun things!). Cynira! This is such a long time coming. I’d love for you to introduce yourself to my readers and tell us about your position at FragranceNet.com.
“Hi everyone! I’m so excited to be doing this. First, I have to thank Gil for taking the time out of his busy schedule to interview me! My name is Cynira and I’m the Social Media Coordinator for FragranceNet.com and editor-in-chief for Candy Coated Closets. I’m responsible for managing all of the social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Blog etc.); creating content for them and managing the outreach to bloggers and influencers. I’m also in charge of the new Brand Ambassador program which I’m so excited about!”
For those who are unfamiliar with FragranceNet.com, what exactly is it?
“FragranceNet.com is an e-commerce website that offers over 17,000 genuine, brand name fragrance, skincare, makeup, haircare, aromatherapy and candles – all at discounted prices.“
I’ve been a fan of FragranceNet.com for years, and am so excited to be an official Brand Ambassador. How did you find out about the company, and what made you want to work there?
“I was running low on one of my favourite skincare products – the IceCrystals Anti-Aging Prep & Polish Exfoliant by Freeze 24-7. This has been the best facial scrub that I have ever used but it normally costs me $65 for a 2.5 oz bottle every 3 months. I was about to place an online order at a department store and decided to look around for a coupon. That’s when I found it available on FragranceNet.com for $37! It was half the price!
“When I heard that the company was hiring, I immediately knew that I had to work there. I had already falling in love with social media marketing and I had to jump at the opportunity to be able to tell a story about fragrances and beauty products every day.”
I’m sure the #1 question you’re asked is: are products on FragranceNet.com real? I know the answer myself, but what would you say to put customers’ minds at ease? Where do the products come from, what process do they go through, and how is quality ensured?
“The company has an amazing “buyer team” that works tirelessly to get the best deals on the market so that the savings can be passed onto the customer. Once our team receives everything, it is run through a quality control check and then updated on our website. Whenever a customer places an order, the product(s) are also run through another quality check before they are packaged and shipped out to the customer.
“My co-workers always laugh at me when they see me around the office with a pair of rubber gloves on checking products. Since I’m responsible for shipping out the items to our bloggers, influencers and ambassadors, I always make sure that I personally triple check the items that go out. Only the best for my team!”
Being surrounded by perfume, makeup and hair products all day must be overwhelming. What products are you currently loving?
“This has to be a trick question right? 🙂 The best part of my job is being surrounded by perfume, makeup and hair products because I get to discover something new every day. If I had to choose some of my favourites – I would break it down to my top 5.
“Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent – The vanilla and sweet coffee beans drive me crazy.
“Marc Jacobs The Face II Brush – This is the most luxurious foundation brush that I ever felt.
“OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum – Can I qualify this as a multi-purpose product? I use this in my hair every day to add moisture and strengthen my ends. I also use it as a cuticle serum to help keep my nails strong.
“Anastasia Beverly Hills eye shadow in Henna – I love the pop of colour this gives my lid!
“Estée Lauder Heatwave Highlighter – The struggle for a limited edition highlighter, right? This is still my favourite highlighter to date.”
Let’s talk about the role of social media for a minute. How important is it to FragranceNet.com, and why work with bloggers to honestly talk about the company?
“Social Media is probably one of the biggest tools in marketing now. It really helps to get the word out about our brand and products to customers who may have never seen us or paid attention to us through traditional marketing.”

“Exceptional Parfums is a line of fragrances, makeup and candles that was created to celebrate you and what it means to be an individual. It was made to remind you that you are Exceptional – just because you are.”
When you’re not at work, what do you love to do?
“You can either find me in my glam room playing in makeup and fragrances or taking pictures of said makeup and fragrances. I love product photography!“
For someone who is looking to get into Public Relations, what would you say? Books to read, schools to look at, etc.
“For the next wave of PR Professionals, my first tip is to make sure that you absolutely love what you’re doing. You’ll be more successful in your career and with your pitches if it is something that you truly love and enjoy. My second tip would be to make sure that you take a lot of creative writing, photography and graphic designs classes. The way that the market is going now, PR professionals need to have a lot of skills under their belt.“

“Expect to be amazed! I can’t say much more than that but we are definitely listening to our customers to make sure that we give them exactly what they want!“
