This is my third Bath & Body Works Wallflower, and I still don’t know what a wallflower is. Let’s find out, once and for all.

Wallflower (noun): a southern European plant of the cabbage family, with fragrant yellow, orange-red, dark red, or brown flowers, cultivated for its early spring blooming.

Wallflower (informal): a person who has no one to dance with or who feels shy, awkward, or excluded at a party.

Interestingly enough, I still don’t get it. Anyway, this is Bath & Body Works’ 24 mL wallflower fragrance bulb in Black Tie (from the 2013-14 holidays collection), which retails for $7.50. This bulb fits into any Bath & Body Works wallflower plug, and in theory scents your room for many weeks to come. Let’s see if it makes me want to dress up!

Bath & Body Works Black Tie Wallflower

Black Tie comes in a bulbous glass orb with a slim bottom and wide top. The name “wallflowers” is raised in the front, and it comes with an ‘ElastiTag’ that’s shaped like a black star. It reads: BATH & BODY WORKS HOME / wallflowers / HOME FRAGRANCE REFILL / RECHARGE DE PARFUM D’AMBIANCE / BLACK TIE / 24 mL/0.8 fl oz. The fluid is a neon yellow colour, with a plain white topper.

The Bath & Body Works website describes the Black Tie scent this way:

Your perfect escort to any holiday party – green sage, sandalwood, and tonka bean.

Forget all of that – this is Michel Germain’s Sexual Fresh for men in a home fragrance. It literally feels like you’re walking into a room that’s been doused in the stuff by a fragrance fire truck. Citrus-y and very cologne-y.

What’s your opinion about this scent?
